| For decades, the artist, better known as Jason Shiver, has never been content to sit still for long. From the time he picked up his paint brush at the age of 11 to create Mother and Child, Jason has displayed God given talents and pursued ways to improve and explore his artistic vision. From brushes, pencils, pastels and charcoal, to more recently, steel and a welding torch, you just never know where he's going to go next. Drawing from a life of early losses, challenging young adult choices and finally a well deserved family life filled with love and laughter, Jason's work represents a range of emotion. Like with most artists, each new piece is an extension of his inner self. Much of his subject matter, even that which appears mundane, contains hidden meanings and allegory. These days, you'll likely find Jason working at Tampa Bay shipyards drawing inspiration from his shipfitting trade, or tucked away in his home studio where his vision and his trade often come together. Wherever his inspiration comes from, Jason endlessly explores new ways to make his work the best it can be. |
